WATER DAMAGE
What is water mitigation?
Water mitigation is the act of preventing water from causing further damage to your property and provides moisture removal and control.
Why should I hire a mitigation company for my water damage?
Water can cause major damage especially if not treated properly.  Mold can begin to grow after just 1 or 2 days, therefore proper mitigation is key. Our technicians use moisture sensors and thermal imagers to verify where all the wet areas are located. They then make sure all the equipment is placed in specific locations in order to facilitate the drying process. FSA-Full Steam Ahead is a certified mitigation firm in addition to our trained staff.

The padding, which is installed underneath most carpeting, is removed due to its ability to hold excessive amounts of water. If not removed it can extend the dry out process and possibly cause additional damage to your subfloor or cause the carpet backing to delaminate.

What is padding?
The true purpose of carpet padding is to absorb the impact of foot traffic, thereby extending the life of your carpet.  It can also provide comfort, warmth and sound proofing.

However, the residue that remains from the soot and the smoke smell can remain in your home without the proper chemicals and expertise. With our extensive fire damage training and odor eliminating equipment we will return your home to its pre-loss condition.
What type of safety concerns should I be worried about with my fire damage?
You should not enter any home after fire damage until it has been deemed safe by a licensed inspector, the fire department or a building engineer.
What is a board up?
Typically after a fire damage has occurred there is a possibility that windows have been broken, entrances to your home damaged, and openings in your property to allow the outside elements in. Our board up team can secure your home to ensure that your property and valuables are protected.

What is an indoor environmental professional or industrial hygienist?
Industrial hygienists are scientists and engineers committed to protecting the health and safety of people in the workplace and the community. (AIHA Website) They are typically called in at the beginning of a mold remediation job to test the air quality and verify the specific types of mold found. They then write a mold remediation protocol for the remediation contractor to follow. After FSA-Full Steam Ahead, the remediation contractor, has completed the remediation process, the industrial hygienist is then called back to the property for further testing and to verify that all mold/mold spores have been removed.
